Specific grades of actives and inactive ingredients must be used in formulating. The alcohol (ethanol) is denatured either by the alcohol producer or at the point of production of the finished hand sanitizer product.
FDA is sending a voluntary request for information to firms that have registered and listed hand sanitizers, ethanol for use in hand sanitizers, or both with FDA after March 1, 2020.
